How to evaluate these results
1.Read the anchor sample
Look for brand names, plain URLs, and relevant descriptive anchors from credible sources. Repeated commercial phrases, unrelated languages, gambling, adult, or pharmaceutical terms require investigation even when an aggregate metric looks strong.
2.Review the archive timeline
Confirm that the domain had a coherent former use and note long parked periods, abrupt topic changes, doorway pages, or repeated ownership shifts. A clean backlink sample cannot make an unrelated or unstable history relevant.
3.Check the previous brand
Search the name, trademark databases, and active social profiles. A technically clean domain can still create legal or reputational risk if another organization continues to trade under the same distinctive identity.
What does clean history mean on CatchSEO?
It means the evidence examined by the classifier did not show the defined spam patterns and met the minimum evidence requirements for a clean result. It does not certify future rankings, trademark safety, or the continued existence of every backlink.
Can a clean expired domain still be a bad purchase?
